Peridium: Characterised by non-striated, transversal lumps that can greatly vary in size.
Gleba: Darker than the Tuber Aestivum, it shifts to a hazelnut brown the older it grows.
Shape And Dimension: Usually quite round. It generally can grow up to about 4 inches in diameter.
Ripening season: From fall through Winter.
Picking season: It can only be picked from the 1st of October to the 31st of December.
Scent: It has the typical smell and aroma of the hazelnut.
Additional Information: Its spores present tiny little hook-shaped crests inside them, that give the truffle its name, “Uncinatum” (“hooked”)
